Description
Behold, Angel Island. Fully drawn in GIMP, in 3 or 4 hours during a rainy afternoon.

I based the look of the Floating Island on the way it is shown in the few cutscenes of Sonic Adventure when it is seen falling from the sky, with things from Sonic 3 & Knuckles in mind as well.
You can see grassy hills, a lot of forests, mountains of course, some with glaciers at their tops, and the volcano with Lava Reef Zone in its crater. See the glow of the lava at the crater wall? I bet it's hot down there!
I considered drawing a few ruins as well, as they make a great part of Angel Island's 'flair' to me, but on second thought the distance to the island seemed too big to see small structures like these that are anyways hidden in forests.
