Description A Spec-ichthyodectid, which I took the liberty of naming after an Antwerpian river-ogre, the Lange-wapper. This family, which includes the well-known Xiphactinus, survived on Spec.

Is that a Melanocetus (I don't know if I spelled that right).?

That's one of those deep-sea guys, eh?

It's an ichthyodectid. Its ilk left this earth during the Cretaceous. *Melanocetus* is an anglerfish and is unrelated, but I did try to go for an anglerfish look with this brute.

Ohhh, okay. oops.

I was trying to think of the common name of Melanocetus johnsonii (had to Google for correct spelling) and I realized people just call them angler fish.

Freaky fish, but a nicely drawn fish.
