now I need an action shot in it. But to do that, I have to get back to my Dag buddies... and they are currently 3 states away... =/

That's not good, my friend. :<
Incidentally, I'm becoming more interested in joining Dagorhir the more I look into it.

Hm... Hit your roommate? *shrugs*
I dunno. So far, I have only found a single kind of boffer weapon that I like, and I don't know if it's Dag-legal. The worse part is that the site's down for maintenance, so I can't take a closer look at the weapon specs to check. -_-

what's it made of?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Razor23119 In reply to Spirogs [2010-05-23 05:39:26 +0000 UTC]
Carbon-fiber core and foam. However, though they may be Amtgard-legal, I don't think they'll qualify for Dagorhir. They just seem too slim for the size requirements, and they might leave bruises when used by some people. Here's a little more about the manufacturer, though, and they have videos on youtube: [link]
I might just try to make one myself, or see if I can't commission a custom from Wynar ([link] ).

Heh, not quite finished yet...
Actually I dont know. I spent well over 50 dollars to make this... but that's much cheaper than you'd find anywhere...

With the proper underarmor, that thing would be so epic....
...But for now, we can revel in the beauty of it.
...have you ever considered making a helmet?

AeonReclaimer In reply to Spirogs [2010-05-23 02:09:47 +0000 UTC]
Hahaha...ya.
You prefer agility and speed for avoiding attacks than full protection for defense, huh?
I would too.

fiberflass inserts? what do you mean?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
IMAGINeye In reply to Spirogs [2010-05-22 01:33:10 +0000 UTC]
You can find examples all over the internet. Here is one of them . But on movie sets, if a costume needed some metal work, we would weight the option between the real thing or using something else (like Fiberglass). Done right it can look like metal, weight a lot less, and can cost less (seeing that metal work has gotten really expensive). These fiberglass inserts could go between your leather shoulder flaps. I think it would look really cool and just add to the already impressive leather work you have done.

Have a mask/helm planned out.
I actually made one out or cardboard and duct tape that is practically indestructible, but leather will be better I think.

Yeah, probably going to dye it a dark red.
Might paint the designs on it a diferent color though. gold? silver? probably silver, since it matches our Legion's colors =]
