Connecting to the sun is easy, gaining basic magical abilities related to heat and healing.
Connecting to the stars is difficult, but can give more dangerous abilities.

Establishing a connection to a constellation of stars takes a long time, but greatly
outmatches the power of the sun.

Cosmic magic is weaker during the day, just like sunlight magic is weaker during the night.

The biggest difference between sunlight and cosmic magic, is the focus on gravity.
Cosmic magic deals far more with gravity than heat.
Gravitational magic being unleashed upon the earth can be devestating,
the most powerful display of this was when a mountain was toppled and
