Skullstreak sat cleaning his fur in a small clearing in the woods. The young, blind warrior liked the solitude of the forest. His yellow fur stood out through the trees, but there wasn't any fear of him being attacked, because he was relatively close to the camp, anyway.

boulderclaw, after a long morning of hunting, trotted back to camp carrying a large mouse. He approached a small clearing where an odd shine of colour was. His curiosity led him over to the clearing.

Skullstreak twitched an ear and stopped what he was doing. He heard footsteps. He froze, and waited for the stranger's scent to come close enough for him to recognise it.

Boulderclaws large paw thumped loudly as he padded towards the figure. It seemed to notice him, so he called out "hello? Who is that?" He mewed loudly enough to hear from a distance.

At first tense, Skullstreak relaxed when he heard Boulderclaw's familiar (russian) voice. Also, he had begun to smell the other cat's distinctive scent. "Just me, Boulderclaw. It's Skullstreak." He called out, going back to cleaning his paws.

Boulderclaw sighed happily "oh yes, congratulations on your warrior ceremony. I'm sorry I couldn't attend it" he apologized, trotting up to the warrior.

The calm-natured Skullstreak nodded contently. "Thank you, and it's fine. It wasn' that big a ceremony." He stopped licking his paw for a minute, and "looked" at Boulderclaw sideways. "Soooo... I hear that you and Applefur are mates now?"

Boulderclaw gave a surprised expression and tried to hide it in his voice, but failed "oh.....uh...where...where did you hear that?" He stuttered, his face turning red.

Skullpaw gave a light chuckle. "Icepaw tol' me. Is it true?" He started cleaning his other paw.

Boulderclaw sighed and smiled, his face still red "yes..it is true" he replied, wishing he could hide his embarrassment.

Skullstreak, giving a mischievous grin, mewed, "I had a feelin' bout you two. Apple's a sweet cat, we talk sometimes."

Boulderclaws face started to feel warm "uh...what do you talk about?" He mewed suspiciously.

The blind cat shrugged. "This and that. She's friends with Icepaw, so sometimes... I ask about her... but other than that, just day t' day stuff." He picked up the suspicion in Boulderclaw's voice, but refused to react to it.

Boulderclaw quietly sighed with relief "that's good" he smiled "I'd better get going now" he mewed as he realized he was taking prey back to camp.

"Well then!" Skullstreak stood up and started to walk off. He was a bit surprised that Boulderclaw would be suspicious of him for talking with Applefur, but he shrugged it off. "I'll se you around, mate." he mewed.
