Description Lincoln, 30s exposure over Broadgate looking up to the Cathedral. Shot with ~Sras back in July '07!

I saw an ambulance coming from behind me... chance really

Edit: Removed glaring lights from left of shot, changed WB.

Great shot! I myself used to live in Lincoln many years ago and know this scene well.
I was actually involved in a police chase up this very stretch of road after an armed robbery back in 2000.

Seems like another lifetime ago now as im a different person now and not into all that shit anymore, but still good to see some great shots of Lincoln as it's a very photegnic place!

Nice work!

You did eight and a half years?

How, the sentence was passed a maximum of seven years ago?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

papaspaulding In reply to Sprogg [2007-10-20 00:23:58 +0000 UTC]

No the sentance was 8and a half of which the full term works out at 6 I was released last year. Basically all sentances over 4 years amount to parole being half way mark then if not you serve two thirds, and the rest being on licence depending on how long you should serve under probation, based on probations accessment .

the pic is perfect as is
and the lit up cathedral in the background just adds to it
its like the old vs new concept
*you no like the photos from japan where they took a picture of a pagoda and in the background would be the new skyscrapers*
its sort of like watching over the city to

Oh wow, that is good. Well, it's all luck, really, isn't it?
I love the star effect on the lights, and the framing is spot on. I can't give you any Advanced Critique because I don't think it needs it!

Ahh thanks! I tried to get the composition spot on in the viewfinder rather than photoshop, always helps. As for the star effect, my lens seems to create that on its own, without any filters etc.

I like doing it myself too ^^
Oh cool! I have an adjustable filter that lets you make any star shape you want

Heh, I was thinking just the same thing when I got a very similar shot [link] I think you did a better job, mine was too short an exposure.

Dude, you were there like 8 minutes after me

I vaguely know someone else who's taken another photo looking up there too - lives in Hykeham; Tim Gregory if you happen to know him.

Seems to be a popular spot

I think the problem with yours is what your camera's white balance was set to, some of the colours look totally surreal.

Good shot of yours though

My dad showed my aunts and uncles this photo and they loved it, he also had the nerve to introduce it as the "photo Seth and his friend Fred took"

Hahar!

Can you remember who actually took this one? What do you think to the edit? I removed a couple of floors of a building on the left
