I don't have any personal experience with female skunks, but from what I've heard..the experiences are pretty similar. The only real thing to consider is when it comes time to spay/neuter. Spaying costs a bit more than neutering. Each skunk can have their own personality and it seems to be independent of what sex they are.

Well, sorta hard for me to say because I worked as an ER vet tech and assisted in the procedure myself and got my boss to do it, so it was heavily discounted for me. Just really had to pay for the drugs. But you'll want to make sure you already have a vet (who has experience with skunks) ahead of time before you get your baby in case anything happens. Be sure to ask if they actually have experience or are "just willing"; there's a big difference. And make sure you have an after-hours emergency contact for anything that happens when they are not open.

Yeah, there's a vet here who works on skunkies. The store owner (who is going to be selling me the skunkie) owns a skunk and he told me which one he goes to. I guess there are a few people around town that go to him
