» Backstory:
Ayavi was raised in Laverre City by her grandmother, Mao. Her mother passed away after giving birth and her father, unable to deal with the grief, left to become a pokemon trainer. Mao was a retired Pokemon Center nurse and taught Aya everything she knew about medicine, which in turn helped Aya take care of Mao when she got very sick.
Aya was in denial about her grandmother's illness and ran away one day, getting lost in tall grass. A wild pokemon jumped out at her, causing Aya to cry out for help. A very small Espurr came to her rescue, protecting the girl from the other startled pokemon's attack. The Espurr was injured, so she scooped him up and ran all the way back to her house and, despite being upset, asked her grandmother to help her save him. They nursed him back to health and attempted to set him free, but every time they let him go, he came right back. Aya named him Ahri and the two have been inseparable since. Ahri has been a big part of Aya's life, helping her to get over her grandmother's passing and become more social.
Ayavi and Ahri, along with their new friends Lotato and Yan, now live in Norview City but often travel for Pokemon Contests. They don't battle others too often (mostly because Ahri cries if he gets scratched and Lotato's too lazy), but they love making new friends and travel buddies !!
