Best friend and trusted confidant of King Varus, Martin aka 'Nightshade' holds the title 'The King's Blade'. My OC by ginailustra.deviantart.com/ . Martin hails from the Kurmark region of Monera. The son of a blacksmith, he is the foremost swordsman in the kingdom. Martin grew up with the young Varus after Martin's family were killed during a heavy Orc raid. The king, Varus' father, led the Moneran counter attack which drove the Orcs out. Martin was one of the few surviving elven children, having barracaded himself in his family's hut and fought the Orcs to a stand still with bow and sword. Martin was found unconscious among the bodies of twenty-five Orcs he had slain. The king had the young elf brought back to the capital and raised with the royal children. Martin and Varus became close, like brothers.

Martin grew up and became a great warrior. Fierce, tough, and cunning, with a sharp mind, he fought hard for the king and was extremely loyal. Varus trusted no one more than Martin and Martin idolized his best friend Varus. The two elves became a ruthless and powerful team. After years of hard work and much fighting, Varus bestowed the title 'King's Blade' on Martin and praised him to his face.
