WIP of the portrait of Michael C Hall ([link] ).These pictures are photos of the portrait (excepted the last one which is the scan), the quality is not excellent but it ables to have an idea of the progression
I needed approximately 20h to finish it.

I am just getting the hang of the graphite pencles do you go dark and then remove the places you don't want the color or do you just start of light and then go dark? i am totaly in love with your work to.. i wish i could be only half as good

Thanks x) I leave the clear areas white and I darken the rest, then I use a kneaded eraser to contrast more and more

cool i find it hard to leave the light areas light.. i do use that type of eraser as well.. you really are an inspiation! AMAZING!

May i ask how you get it so dark? Mine always goes shiny and stays gray, is it the paper's problem?

umm yup, i think u are the best i have seen, this result is stunning! how do u get such nice darks? are you using ink at all? or all pencil?

Thanks ! I only use pencils, 8B and 9B pencils allows you to have this darkness

cool, yeah really awesome stuff. i used to do shit loads of pencil drawing, but ever since i started using photoshop, i haven't done it that much
