Description Me and my friend TheAxel have been making these dolls for the past goodness knows how many weeks.

They're for the Finnish cast of Wicked. And they really look like them (except for that Elphaba doesn't get eaten by darkness in reality)!

Heh, this Glinda doll, put in the equally pink and sequined box we made for her... The combo is just so pink and glittery it seems to suck all light out from the room it's in.

Yeah, the Finnish version has some pretty non-traditional costume choices - personally I like Fiyero's costumes, but for example Glinda's dress in the first scene (see on the second spread here: [link] ) is pretty un-Glinda-like, in my opinion at least...

If you think this Fiyero plyshie is somehow hot, you should see the guy live...

call me the ignorant american but some of those costumes from that link really made me laugh.

but some were pretty similar, i do admit. it just kinda looked funny. i bet it would be amusing to see!

I don't think it has to do with being American if you find the Finnish costumes a bit silly - it's just a matter of personal taste. Not every costume there is that fantastic - but I think partially that has to do with how very little Finns are familiar with the Wizard of Oz movie, so they don't have to imitate its style.

Through sweat, blood and tears.
Seriously: mostly by hand, only a couple of little bits and pieces with sweing machine. You can believe Fiyero's stubble took me quite a lot of time...

Stick velcro under it, you don't even have to do extra work for the deformity that way.

Good idea! But I'd like to make an Erik with a proper face. His mask makes me sad.
I think I'd be able to secure it with a string around his head...the really hart bit would be making it fit the contour of the face. Y'know, cuz the cloth is straight and the face would be curved...
Maybe I'd have to make it out of clay...Oh, good grief...

Yeah, that's pretty difficult... I've only experience making human-sized PoTO masks, so I can't really help here... Maybe something like the canvas/plaster stuff they make casts for broken limbs out of, that worked pretty well with the bigger one?

Yeah, I was thinking plaster. Oooh, Plaster of Paris works really nicely for things...

For my Erik cosplay, yes. Not really perfect, but everyone was so confused about how I made the mask stick to my face and then a couple of kids started following me around and I got to really play the role to them, so it did its job!

It is. Except for the duct tape on your face part. Kind of too bad I did it already though - I need to figure out a new costume for next year's senior carneval. My friends don't really like the idea of being Enjolras and waving the giant red flag in everybody's face...

I've some revolutionary red ones too! And then neon green and bright yellow because they fit so perfectly with my turquoise bag and grass green beanie with a huge green bobble and purple jacket and yellow-violet mittens... I think my friends think I'm colourblind.

Köh, höm. Ei löydetty. Löydettiin obsidiania (tai siis askarreltiin sitä luolassa mämmäämällä vettä ja laavaa yhteen), ja tiedetään missä se on (jollei eksytä matkalla), mutta ei saada sitä irti. Onpa kuitenkin olemassa!
