I said in the artist comments of my 2010 art summary that I should just name Enjolras the man of the year and move on.Which naturally made me think about who's the woman of the year in my art. Enjy is the guy to make the most appearances, but who's the leading lady?
Well, wouldn't you know it, it's Glinda.
And since I've drawn Glinda without Elphaba only about once or twice, I had to include Elphie too in this little homage to my favourite drawing subjects of 2010. After all, as all who've seen my Pajama Party pics know, Elphie and Enjy are friends...
And since I got that pink marker just so I could colour Glinda's dresses better (seriously, how pathetic am I?) I had to draw the girl as soon as possible!
Les Mis and Wicked aren't mine.
The marker I used on Enjy's trousers was quite syrupy, so they're pretty messed.

Somehow I doubt Enj would like being royalty, seeing as he's trying to overthrow them and all...just a thought.

This is great! I love the expression on Enjy's face and your interpretation of Elphaba's dress is amazing -- almost Victorian in its style.~

Someone should tell Glinda never to wear mauve to a ball. I adore their faces, here. Elphaba looks so regal and disdainful! She's walking the line between musical Elphie and book Elphie here, I think. Enjolras just looks like he has better things he could be doing. Like building a barricade. Yeah.

Oh, no, no worries -- I was just cracking a stupid Into the Woods joke. There's a running gag about the stepsisters wearing pink and mauve to a ball, and blaming their color choices for their lack of popularity at said ball, instead of thinking it had anything to do with their winning personalities. I think Elphie might be about to spout the stepmother's line, actually...
"Never wear mauve at a ball."
"Or pink."
Stepmother: "Or open your mouth."
