This Llama sketch started out as quick fun sketch from an ACEO or ATC for A-kon 21 and I liked the sketch so much I went ahead and painted it larger to 8x10.
I did jokingly (and had others say too) say along the way if anything I ever did, this would be the one that got me a DD.
So, thank you! <3 I didnt know I loved Llamas at all, until the day Llamas rained from the sky - so I had to draw a little Llamapeg of my own. (Unicorn+pegasus = Unipeg. Unipeg + Llama = Llamapeg).

I was really schocked to see the amount of people who posted such negative comments about why this should not have been a DD. The artist has no control over what piece is chosen. I hope these comments have not ruined what should have been a wonderful moment for you. As fellow artists and writers, I thought most of us has the good sense to be more constructive in our comments, as we would only want the same courtesy returned to us on our own work. I think you did a wonderful job of capturing the imagination that we all once felt (and sometimes still do) as children. Horray for you for reminding us that art can still be random and fun.

I look at your gallery, you have a very original style and I love most of your animal characters. BTW I don't like this drawing and it's annoying the fact that people are criticizing you instead of who actually suggested this artwork. Your gallery is full of art that deserves a DD more than this one.

Haha, thanks! I figure it cant be the only one, unicorn horns look fantastic on so many things.

Lol, you can't make everyone happy. It's like wishing everyone was super smart or really talented in X subject matter. If EVERYONE was REALLY talented, then the entire scale flatlines and there's no appreciating good or bad x. There is only X. It stops being REALLY good X, because EVERYONE can do X REALLY well.

Its true! Its funny I always hear artists that I just OMGADORE being all sad they cant do something else. Like because "I can paint, I should be able to...." is silly.
I always tell them, if you cant sew thats okay. Find a seamstress that cant paint and TRADE IT OUT! Wooo!

Heck yeah, trading craft for craft. We humans have a vast history of the barter system working okay. It's not exactly 2 chickens for a goat, but it's similar . . . on a smaller scale (and less smelly), lol.
