Description Counterpart to this .

Merlin's Cave, Tintagel, Cornwall. (plus two anthropomorphic young countries) The wind blows strongly in there.

I was in this cave, taking photos, and I, too, got wet.

We heard a seal.

Did you know that the French altered Merlin's name to its present form from the original Welsh Myrddin, because it sounded too much like "merde"? - Or so I hear. Wikipedia is not the most accurate source.

Charcoal, pencils; colours in Photoshop.

I love the old storybook feel of this. And just that little dab of colours makes it come alive. Great work :]

Absolutely gorgeous!

Quick question: Whenever I've used charcoal it gets everywhere, so how did you scan this into your computer to use photoshop? I'd imagine the charcoal would get all over your scanner and ruin it D:

Did you take a picture? Or did you seal the charcoal with some sort of spray before hand? (..I've never actually seen said spray in person, but I've heard people talk about it)

I fixed it, yes xD it should set you back around £4-£5 a can and any art shop should have it. and don't overspray, it's always better to do a few thin coats so your drawing doesn't end up looking "heavy".

This looks wonderful. I wish paintings like these were present in my fairy tale books when I was younger I love how you portray the shadows in the cave! (Also, young Arthur and Francis are adorable )

Oh Tintagel... *sighs* This has a magical feel to it, the same dreamy feeling you get when you are walking through centuries old ruins as you imagine just what could have happened here and how it was to live in that age past so long ago.

And Tintagel is just that "magic" place that you can step on that, supposedly, gave birth to such a legendary character such as King Arthur.

I love this concept, both France and England look wonderful.

I once heard someone describe Tintagel as "the King's own country". The atmosphere there is terrific - despite it having been turned into a tourist spot the cliffs and the caves drown out most sounds except for the wind and the seals.

Thank you!!
