"Gajeel... Natsu... I did what I could... to advocate myself... I've finally earned the courage to fight for what I believe in. So now.. now it's up to you... to stop Laxus... and save... Fairy Tail..."
Even after fighting back at long last, Ariella is no match for Laxus and she is left barely able to stand in the wake of his Raging Bolt spell. It surprises Gajeel and Natsu, but it enrages Laxus as because he wanted her to disappear as punishment for not surrendering herself to him when he would take over Fairy Tail. She says these final words to the two Dragon Slayers just before she loses consciousness and collapses...
This scene occurs in the Battle of Fairy Tail arc.

She tried, but he's too strong for her. That's why I let her take the fall so that I won't break canon.
