Oberon-class anti-air cruiser
The base hull configuration for the better known and more ubiquitous Thundercall-class light cruiser, the Oberon is a dedicated anti-fighter platform armed almost entirely with light VLS cells, as well as six hanger bays for the launching of interceptors. Rarely deployed as a central task force element, the Oberon excels at protecting larger targets from fighter and bomber assault, able to project a wide anti-fighter screen with its complement of missiles and smaller attack craft. As with all Magisterial ships of the line, the Oberon maintains forward facing railcannon artillery and several heavy missile tubes for direct ship-to-ship combat.
