My half of an exchange with my wonderful RL sister, *calicokatt .

She asked me awhile ago if I wanted to do another exchange with her, and of course I said "yes", so then I got to work on thinking what to draw for her. In all our exchanges, she always draws something so wonderful for me, and I usually draw her something kinda corny with an even cornier BG. *sighs*

So this time I researched. I knew exactly what I wanted to draw, but I thought I should do it all by hand, because, well... she likes my entirely traditional work

This is her Egyptian character, Prince Tetiphar, a reluctant prince who is being forced into an arranged marriage in order to become his father's successor, a Pharoah. The handsome prince does not WANT to be in a forced marriage, for his true love is his best friend (I *THINK* her name is Sahkmet). So how does he plan on averting this marriage? By having he and his true love whisked away somewhere far away. His guardian, a scarab beetle named Joe (my sister is ever-so-creative ), finds a magical encantation that will whisk them away... Unfortunately for Tetiphar, (and circumstances I don't really know), Tetiphar and Joe realize this magical incantation whisks them away alright... away from Sahkmet and 2000 years (I think it's 2000) into the FUTURE, our present day, and winds up babbling Egyptian to a group of idiotic boys (AKA my sister's male crew) who lovingly take them into their own. Let the fun begin! ^^

Alright, so that's who the character is. This PICTURE, then, is that fateful decision for Tet to chant the incantation, on an Egyptian balcony, really at odds with his decision. I've always wanted to depict this scene for her since the day she introduced him, and I thought this a great opportunity.

Let it be said now... I LOVE the character drawing. HE turned out beautifully. I HATE HATE HATE the shitty background that I did not successfully do. *sighs* I tried SO hard to make it look like an Egyptian balcony (I spent 3 hours searching for ref pics even!!) and it turned out to look like a crappy mural painted on a wall.... *sighs* BLEH, I'll understand if she hates this. *sighs*

I'm not quite sure of Tet's animal species, but I always ALWAYS make him look like my Noah-Paul *grumbles* I didn't mean it, really.

And dear lord, I hate that goatee cover whatever-the-hell. >.<

And he's too close to the wall, so the angle looks awkward. *sighs* Bleh, I hope she likes it anyway.
