Description This is yet another space scene. A fleet of large carriers passes close by a ringed planet - which might be Saturn, but perhaps not

I find it relaxing somehow, to play around with compositions such as this one.

It is a "collage" made up of 3D elements created in Lightwave and Modo and composited in Photoshop.

The depth effect is pretty stunning on this one.
And all those carriers flying together makes it look very epic.

Can you please make a movie about this?
I would give my right arm to get to see some classy military sf stuff like that on the big screen.
Or the small one for that matter... :3

I think this artwork is amazing.

I do have a question though.

Nice.
I'd love a closer look at those ships, though.

Brilliant.

You know, as much as the scene is gorgeous, and the setting could fit beautifully in a proper movie, I am curious about the actual ship designs themselves.

Any chance you have further art that uses these?

I don't have anything else with them at the present time. The models are actually pretty basic, I'm doing my usual "cheating" with lighting and compositing tricks to get them to look more impressive than they really are if you got a good look at them

Perhaps, that does not diminish their impact in any way though

Hmmm, I'm getting a lot of ideas from this single picture you have created. From now on when building ships, I will be thinking as if I were making a futuristic buildings that are long and flat.

Awesome! and nice to see someone else who uses winged protrusions on starships!

I agree with you on this. It's a peaceful looking scene.

steve-burg In reply to High-Guard [2012-02-02 16:29:35 +0000 UTC]

I don't think of them as wings for aerodynamics - but it's nice to add shapes like that to make the design more interesting

***The spacecrafts have good design, and the planet are well done. Now,I guess that the ring planet isnΒ΄t Saturn, because the colors arenΒ΄t the same that anyone can see at NASA photos.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

steve-burg In reply to TanukiTagawa [2012-02-02 16:30:15 +0000 UTC]

It is probably a ringed planet in some other solar system... uncharted territory!
