unfortunately lots of people look for the cheapest instead of the quality on the tattoo business..and then you have the other people who doesn't notice any diference from a good tattoo artist and a 5year old kid drawing..it's sad but it's true,it's how the world works..regarding the copying..i wouldn't be too worried unless you are the guy with that monstruosity on your back..

See... This is ridiculous.
As someone who is potentially about to get in to the tattoo world, this scared me ha!
I don't want people doing this sort of stuff. I want my stuff to be original and for people to want ME and me alone to put my work on them.

Also why I check out the tattoo artist over a long period of time before I let them near me with ink when I go get inked. I take pride in my artwork going on my body so I want good, no average or bad.

There's a TattooThieves.com website to put people like this on blast. Theres a facebook for their site too. You should submit this to them and bring the copycat into public view so nobody else gets a copycat tat.

As long as e-bay sells tattoo kits for $100 bucks I don't think there is any way to avoid people getting shitty tattoos in houses or tattoo parties. I had a similar situation where a scratcher was using my name and my online portfolio to get people to come to his house and get tattooed. Unfortunately I was never able to track him down but the lengths people are willing to go to to save some money on something thats gonna be on them forever constantly amazes me.

We have a lot of those around here. I'm not the greatest but I did my time as a shop bitch, put in the hours never being home, and paid my dues all around. And I still spend too much time covering or reworking shit people got done by their friendly neighborhood kitchen wizard. We actually have a woman working out of her house, licensed by the state, with no training or talent. And she has multiple police reports filed against her for unsanitary conditions and underage clients.
