It does say 'This is Mel and Kit from Team Human (Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan)' in the description.
Team Human is a book.

Though I don't understand why you've drawn the scene if you haven't read the book?

I know. It's just that I remembered this from Justine Larbalestier's blog when I got to that part in the book, so I was simultaneously reading this and the book and making sure the dialogue matched... yeah.

Haha it should do seeing as I had a copy in front of me at the time. Some times I have to change the punctuation a bit when I do these comics as I can't break off with " to say so and so did such and such only to resume "speech". If the wording changes it tends to be typos XD

great line art, unfortunately, it has a slightly wonky flow in the middle.

ThomClyma In reply to Street-Angel [2012-04-27 23:12:11 +0000 UTC]
like how the word bubbles cut into the scene, and since it's such a long and open frame, when you get to the middle, even though we KNOW who's speaking, theres no reference in the middle. primarily because we actually have what he's saying go behind him around the second "frame".
if it had been broken up between three separate flows of words rather than one long one, it'd give the reader more immersion.

Well I wanted to achieve that 'narrative' shall we say feel with the bit about the cheese because of the style change to help illustrate his point, I didn't want them to be 'talking' so the easiest way I could achieve that it seemed was to hook up with the text above and below it. Also, he doesn't break for breath in the book, literally it's one big paragraph of speech, so again, the continuous text was to convey that.
But I get what you're saying about things getting a bit lost in the second panel.

true. its not easy to adapt something like that to a comic.
