I wanted to tackle some more versions of Selkies and I had to draw a pup, just because the cuteness potential was hurting my teeth.So here's a Selkie family just waking up, or having been woken up by white ball of adorableness. I really need to get the design right for the male, I was aiming for the strength and dominance you find in bull seals. This was a first attempt so there is way more potential to his design.

So I'm pretty durn certain that one of my ancestors was a selkie, but the seal coat got left to someone else, so I'm working on making my own. End result, I'm revising all of your selkie art as inspiration because wow, I really, really love your take on these guys. To death. And beyond.

A lovely family portrait. I adore your selkies. Although my character is the traditional selkie and thats how i prefer her to look in my story, your portrayal is, I think, what the definite look for a selkie should be.

Yes. That is esentially what they are. Selkies are part of Scottish folk lore. They can also turn into a human by getting out of their fur coat.

I feel like his hips could be narrower, and his shoulders more obviously broad. I like how robust he is otherwise. IMO, she and the seal pup are just perfect and I love all of their eyes.
