Last quarter, I was really bored with my internship and had this overwhelming need for cuteness in my life. Cue merbaby drawing. This gets audible squees from all the girls in graphic design with me. I've been working on it off and on for over a month and I finally finished rendering all the details. So now you guys get to squee, too.

The story behind the little furry critter is that I thought that since my merpeople live a herding lifestyle it would make sense to give them some kind of working animal useful for keeping stray hippocamps in line. Kind of like an underwater stock dog. And so I started drawing sea dogs. They look like a cross between a sea lion and an otter with wolf ears. And where there are sea dogs there are sea puppies. To go with the merbabies. And rot your teeth with the exponential cuteness.
