Description

Say hello to the newest and most annoying stall Pokemon in the game, Celesteela (also known as UB-04 Blaster). It's a truly annoying pokemon because it has the excellent typing of Steel/Flying, which is shared only by Skarmory. Like Skarmory, Celesteela is super defensive, but unlike the metal bird, Celesteela is very bulky in both defensive stats (whereas Skarmory is only super physically defensive). While not having either Recover or Roost might hinder it a bit, Leech Seed is a strong tool for annoying the opposing team and most Grass-types (which are unaffected by Leech Seed) can't really touch Celesteela anyway so it's able to sap foes of their health with little to no trouble. What's more is that despite being super tanky, Celesteela isn't that passive and has access to some decent coverage options, particularly Flamethrower, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, and Air Slash just to name a few. Plus its physical and special attack stats are also relatively even so it can be run whichever way you choose. However its relatively low base 61 speed leaves it outsped by various offensive threats. What's more, is that Celesteela is especially vulnerable to being trapped and KO'd by Magnezone due to its ability Magnet Pull and being an Electric-type. That being said, there really aren't that many flaws with Celesteela as it can function as a stupendous tank and a decent attacker. Whenever you ever go up against one there's a 9/10 chance it's not gonna be easy, at least in my experience.

Here’s my Celesteela's summary.
Nature: Bold or Impish
Held Item: Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpDef
-Heavy Slam
-Toxic
-Leech Seed
-Protect / Substitute

Heavy Slam is Celesteela's main STAB move, often having an insane 120 Base Power thanks to its incredible weight. It can 2HKO Choice Scarf, Choice Specs, and all-out attacking Xerneas sets, OHKO Tapu Lele without taking too much damage in return, 3HKO Mega Kangaskhan and Landorus-T while blocking their offensive presence, and 2HKO defensive Tyranitar. Leech Seed allows Celesteela to recover its HP while dealing damage to the foes that it can't touch with Heavy Slam. It's a must-have at all times to give Celesteela reliable recovery and another means of damaging the foe. Toxic is used to wear down the foe faster and force switches when combined with Leech Seed and Protect. Lastly, Protect is used to scout out moves that can threaten Celesteela, as well as stalling with Toxic and Leech Seed damage and allowing it to restore its health with Leftovers.

252 HP and 252 defense EVs maximize Celesteela's physical capabilities, allowing it to wall attacks from physical attackers, such as Excadrill, Landorus-T, Mega Kangaskhan, and Tyranitar. Either an Impish or Bold nature is used to boost its physical defense while sacrificing its non-used attack stat. Leftovers are used to have a form of passive recovery other than Leech Seed.

Of course Celesteela can run a variety of other moves. Here are some suggestions:
-Air Slash is Celesteela's strongest Flying-type STAB attack and has very solid neutral coverage.-Celesteela can also run a specially defensive set, which works well since Celesteela's weaknesses are mostly special moves.
-If you are feeling really lucky, you can use Celesteela as a late-game cleaner thanks to the Special Attack boost Beast Boost gives upon a KO. However, Celesteela is already slow, and base 107 Special Attack isn't really enough to deal major damage in this tier.
-Flamethrower is an option in order to beat other Steel- and Grass-types like Ferrothorn while giving Celesteela another status option other than Toxic.
-Grass Knot, Giga Drain, and Energy Ball are decent.
-Earthquake can be used to attack Fire- and Steel-types.
-Substitute can be used since Celesteela has excellent bulk and tankiness, plus the combination of Leftovers and Leech Seed recovery helps it regain the HP it loses from creating Substitutes.
-Fire Blast can be used as an alternative to Flamethrower if Celesteela requires to KO something that badly.
-Wide Guard may be used to turn Celesteela into a more supportive beast in double battles, which is often quite appreciated by its teammates due to the move's poor distribution.
-Autotomize allows Celesteela to sharply raise its speed, letting it pressure offensive teams very easily and making it difficult for non-Choice Scarf users to revenge kill it.
-A set utilizing Occa Berry and Stone Edge can take out foes like Mega Charizard Y that are lured in by the assumption that Celesteela is running its standard set. This is can also be useful against other foes weak to Rock, but without a STAB boost or a boosting item, the move is rather weak.
-An Autotomize set with Weakness Policy and two attacks take a far more offensive approach to taking advantage of Beast Boost, using Celesteela's high bulk to survive the super effective hit and begin sweeping. However, this set is inconsistent at best and aside from the surprise factor is generally not worth it.
-The advent of Z-Moves gives Celesteela some interesting Z-Move options.
-On an offensive set, Flyinium-Z is used to give Celesteela a high-powered Flying-type STAB move that can allow it to easily activate Beast Boost when it attempts to sweep.

Notes:

I'm personally fine with Celesteela's own name, as I feel it sounds good already.

However, should you wish to give it a nickname, a good one I recommend is UB-04 Blaster which is Celesteela's given codename in the Sun and Moon games.

Yes actually it is.

Turned out it had 31 IV's in its HP and both of its defense stats, so I didn't have to level it up to 100 and hyper train it. It does have low speed IV's, but when has Celesteela ever been regarded as being fast?

Oh, convenient.

Wait, so does that mean Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Thundurus, and Latios can't learn HP Ice?
