Personality: Mishap is a little bashful, and is very sensitive to negative evaluation and will hold long grudges against those who have dealt it. Unfortunately he can't do much about these grudges, as he isn't very powerful or good at fighting. However, what he lacks in strength he makes up in intelligence. Mishap is extremely creative and is excellent at forming concepts, coming up with ideas, and wording things quickly and efficiently, but is only just proficient at math. He is a legitimate nerd; he'd rather stay in a lab and program calculators than interact with others. Mishap has mild social anxiety and is very afraid of humiliating himself or screwing up in front of others. As a result of this he prefers to stay in the background and really only talks when he's spoken to. This is again unfortunate because he's had a lot of excellent ideas that passed into the void just because no one asked him. Although his concepts are very good, he himself has fairly low self-esteem and thinks he isn't very smart because he's not very good at math, and that his ideas aren't intelligent just because no one else seems to be mentioning plans similar to his. Mishap believes that most of the other aliens on BEN are smarter than him. On top of being generally book-smart, Mishap is also moderately emotionally intelligent, and can deduce the moods and intentions of others easily.

He is difficult to get close to, as he doesn't like aliens who seem incompetent or dependent, and he certainly doesn't like the emotionally weak. The more he knows about other individuals, the more he will dislike them because he sees all of their flaws. Hard to maintain a friendship with.
He would like to be in a relationship, but in relationships he has no idea what to do and is terrified of the idea of embarrassing himself with a reckless move on his part. As a result, he will not ask others to be in a relationship with him, but will wait for someone else to ask. He crushes on as many as 6-7 individuals at the same time. Mishap also tries to be stylish to get attention from these individuals, which seems feminine and many assume that he's just homosexual. However, in his species, males will often attempt to look stylish in order to attract females. The more colorful their straggles and ears are, the more attractive they are deemed. Mishap refuses to wear the color green.

Again, he is awful at fighting, but when he is caught in a conflict he goes very still, Straggles (read desc) poised, looks directly into the eyes of the offender without blinking, and attempts to talk his way out of it. This, reportedly, is so unnerving that many aliens will back off almost immediately. Why Mishap in particular can pull off intimidation like this flawlessly is currently unknown, but some speculate in involves that Straggles, that are almost always waving, suddenly going still and poised.

Mishap's favorite way to kill time is to watch movies, as he wishes that his own life was as epic and inspiring as the film and he watches them to escape it. He always wants to keep moving foreword and keep getting better and achieving more, and his progress stopped at boarding a famous ship to work. He still desires more.

He also has an extremely feminine voice that frequently results in him being mistaken as a female when being met for the first time.

Description: Mishap is a being from a fairly warm, temperate, tropical-type planet and is not a member of the dominant species; When he left, there was actually a debate happening on whether his species should have the same rights as the dominant species or not. His species, the Quille, is extremely sensitive to temperature changes and uses four long extensions called Straggles to monitor temperatures so that his body can make changes to adjust. If there is a sudden and unexpected temperature change (such as a close-by explosion) Mishap can go into a seizure and sometimes even a coma. However, if a temperature is introduced slowly, giving his body enough time to adjust, he can endure extreme temperatures.

Mishap's alien species seem similar to raptors or other reptiles, with scaly skin and feathers, but he is actually more closely related to avians like birds, even though he does not have wings and cannot fly.
He is even born from a structure outside of his mothers body like an egg, except it's really more of a large bee's cell-type structure in a bunch with hundreds of other developing babies from other families.

Plant: Her name is Mech and she is a type 4 plant. Mishap decided to raise her from a seed, since her species looked similar to him, with straggle-like extensions. She, as of current, is the only female he is comfortable being around.

History: Mishap was born from an ordinary cell into an ordinary Quille family- that is, living in mild discrimination from the other dominant species of the planet Nimvalv. When he got into school, his tests in mathematics were simply mediocre, while the rest of the Quille in his class exceeded at it. As a result, his self-worth dropped and he began associating the feeling of low self-esteem with school and being around others. This, of course, made him even more anti-social. As he moved up into "high school", there was one certain individual who he positively loathed; he was a slightly older male named Daeli. Daeli was attractive, smart, good with females and had a very large ego. Naturally, Mishap hated him for being his polar opposite and being everything he himself wanted to be, and also because of a few comments here and there from him that offended Mishap. Mishap began striving to be smarter and better than Daeli, pushing himself and studying all night in order to score higher and, possibly, gain the respect he thought he deserved. Daeli and him competed in nearly everything and they both hated each other to the core. Mishap's life revolved around his competition with his nemesis and everything he did was linked to it in some way. Unfortunately for Mishap, Daeli got caught in an accident with two other Quill. They both died but Daeli was taken into recovery, where he was declared to be in critical condition and would not survive the night. The last words Mishap said to him were, "Please don't die, you're the only thing I live for..." Daeli died an hour later and, with nothing left to hang onto, Mishap ran away from his family in the night and boarded the ship BEN that was taking new recruits in the area, and trained as an Engineer. He did leave behind a single note to his family, telling him where he had gone and that he thought it was the only place for him. (Meh, uninteresting story but I didn't want him to be a generic "Hiz family dyed in front of hiz eyez when he was a kid" type character)

Roleplay Example-

Tick tock, tick tock, the monotonous, cold heartbeat of a clock took root inside Mishap's mind, pulling him away from his deep concentration. His eyes flicked up regretfully from the pages of his diagrams, readjusting to the three-dimensional world he had been away from for so long. The Quille leaned back in his chair, rubbing his aching eyes and tilted his head back to view the clock. Tick tock, tick tock, it's voice clicked Eleven O' Clock. Mishap sighed, closing the book and stretching his arms, arching his neck and pointing his muzzle towards the ground to pull his upper back. His ears flattened against the ticking, the cruel, incessant ticking. He hated the sound of clocks, always had and always will. It drove him, sealing desperation into his heart. It mocked him, laughing at him, reminding him of all the time he was wasting, trapped in the same spot with the same occupation for years. He could do... so much better. He had to keep moving forward. But, now, there was no movement in his timeline. His life had stalled, the one thing he was unwilling to truly accept. Yes, Mishap wanted more. But the ticking held him back.
