very sophisticated image. i love the coloring to her skin. so pale and pink. not doll like, something else that i can't quite put my finger on. the black hat in the background is such a nice color contrast to the skin tone. i can't quite see the geisha reference others mentioned, but regardless it's lovely.

considering my lip-fetish i have to 
i like the tight crop and the way the subject itself - hesi's lips - is off centered. it helps to raise the composition's tension. & it's great how you erased other details so the viewer can focus on the lips. the skin looks porcelain-like and flawless, the dark spot of hair in the background is well balanced in contrary to the bright rest of the picture.
her hairdo and maybe the earrings, too, remind me of a geisha. don't ask me why 
you have a wonderful eye for details

I love almost everything about this photo: composition, contrast, cropping, background etc. However, it seems too sensual to be ruined with lipstick; it seems to me that the model's natural lip color and texture are probably far more beautiful.

yeah, I always try to do a complament, somthing to fix, a complament (in that order) for pictures I comment on.....
theres nothing for that "somthing to fix part on there, the ONLY thing I can see, which would probaly ruin it, would be to have her keep some shadow under you chin, her chin disaperes into her neck with the lighting...but yet it doesn't.

I agree, it's not your usual style - I don't recall a real blown-out look over a whole portrait of yours, it's usually a highlight - but it is a kind of extension of your style. That's a good though, right?
I'm not sure what it is - a portrait mixed with simple geometry - but I want this to be an album cover for Blondie or Yes or Duran Duran or some other 80's group.
There was an artist popular then that used to do vector-style drawings of women and fashion scenes... fairly famous but I forget the name. Anyway, this reminds me of that, a photographic version. The details are blown out so it's all about the overall lines.
