her makeup looks really smokey and sexy. unfortunately you can't see her eyes well because of the dark shadows. i do like the tilt of her head here. an almost luxurious decadent pose. i do wish the crop took off a touch more of the right side and consequently her hair though.

the lighting of this is simply spectacular
the position of her face among the shadows is so gorgeous
the shadows across her face make her face look almost like a lanscape
you have truly used the model's face to create a gorgeous picture!

Your use of depth of field in this image is flawless, it's just where it needs to be. I appreciate you giving advice on lighting too... : )

if i were to try this with 1 softbox, would I just meter with the lumispere pointing back torwards the main light?

well no... if you're using an incident/flash meter you should always position it near an area that you want to appear 18 percent grey with the sphere pointing back at the camera. in a contrasty image like this one, you'll probably want to be metering near the area where there's a transition from dark to light because that's where you're most likely going to find the 18 percent grey. but that sphere should always point back at the camera.

Infortunately my screen, wich is very clear, allows me to see many glitches and enormous pixels in the black background!
Classic shot for a classic beauty.

I like how if you focus on the lighter areas (almost washed out, but in a good way) it has a bright mood, but if you focus instead on the shadow element, the mood changes dramatically. So much shift of character in 1/2" of flesh. Fantastic work!

blissful and dreamy. The lighting seems to sculpt her face from the darkness.

This model from the thumbnail reminds me much of Angelina Jolie, but I think Iām quite crazy
Anyways, Kev, you already know I am a grand fan of your portraits. Because you know how fond I am of your tactics in studio work, your lighting and such. You never cease to impress me with studio work, just like now.
You seemed to have given the model a much sexier look with the tremendously well done lighting effects. And the side view, which gives a very mysterious look. Great job on the contrast too, seems like much contrast, but also just enough to not ruin the photo. Good focus on her face, and partial body, but nice blur towards the bottom.

Wow..very dramatic lighting, which wouldn't suit everyone, but does suit this particular model perfectly. While you do a great job with your travel photos, your expertise in portraiture is really magnificent. Great work buddy.

beautiful, love the lighting, especially how it is very bright on one side, yet soft at the same time, throwing the rest of her face into shadow
