My recent trip to England included a photo shoot with the incomparable =pinkcookie . She's amazingly expressive and fun to work with. The odd coloring and background styling used in The Matrix inspired this one. It's meant to give the impression that something is ever-so-slightly wrong.Lighting provided by my little retro Vivitar 283 flash.

the green in the background. man. reminds me of bad florescent lights at work. (like in Joe verses the Volcano. good movie) really does give off the something's not right vibe. the huge glasses just enhance the weirdness feel. in a good way! the red of her top goes well with the other colors, but the cleavage really doesn't add anything. doesn't take anything away from the piece either though. the more i look the more patterns and textures i see. more chaotic and crazy.

Hey Kev,
I've been thinking about this foto for awhile and it just stuck with me as something I had to have as a fave - it certainly made an impression on me. It's just fun, bold, brazen and it works.
It could be the cover of something wild - party opening invite, cd cover, you name it.
Your skills are outstanding and the model looks like a lot of fun to work with, as you'd mentioned.

Great mood expressed there, there's something a little bit sad, but also a little bit of freedom, as if that kinda behavior was on purpose "I'm living the life I want so stop f***ing with me" or something similar.
The lightning works just perfectly, I love it! And

Strange how she "absorbs" the light, she doesn't reflect it, the way she is darker then the background makes her look to be capting everything around, hiding behind her glasses; she wants to see everything without being noticed. It is beautyful !

I love photos with this type of coloring, or anything varying from the ordinary...it gives it a real original quality. Her pose she seems a tad anxious to go somewhere which is where Im getting the "ever so slightly wrong" vibe from. The style (clothes) is great I love the glasses on her...and the lighting work is without a doubt amazing! Very nice, I really do like it!

Beautiful shot, excellent lighting (despite the simplicity of the setup).
