Adam asked me to draw him something last night. I started sketching while we were on the phone, and voila! Well, okay, there was scanning and about four hours of drawing and then excessive tweaking between sketching and voila!, but... yeah. I'm going to make an attempt to color it at some point in the next few days, but I actually like it quite a lot as is. And I'm fairly impressed with myself, since this is pretty much the first real, complete picture I've drawn in months, and it's not a girl! It's a boy! And there are animals! And a background - holy mother of GOD, a background!

I've never been so much with the backgrounds. Or drawing the boys. So it's pretty exciting.

Upon closer inspection, I'm noticing that the squirrel seems to be kind of floating on the branch instead of actually sitting on it. That may be a line weight issue or it may be a positioning issue. I'll have to mess with it later to see what's the what. But considering some of the acrobatics I've seen squirrels perform, I don't think the way he's sitting is really that big of a stretch. Also, there needs to be a cord coming from the headphones. Stupid cord. It gets me every freakin' time.
