so she's an artist...and her name is Anna.what i myself am proud of is that this is a scan from a print, and besides adjusting curves very slightly, i didn't touch this shot at all, didn't crop an inch i took in on my fav bw film, Ilford HP5 and this is how it came out.

This exposure is amazing! I want to get a simular effect on my own photos, so which iso/apiture/lighting did you use?

i took this on film many years ago so its hard to say, i don't remember. its taken in natural light i think so the shutter could've been 60 or 100 or so. and minimum aperture as usual. i used 400 ISO a lot in situations like that. probably TMAX

i really dont know how to shoot film (right now) but i feel that for a picture like this Film Grain is not needed. maybe a softer flowerlike image would have been a better choice. mabe an iso setting of 200 or 100. just my thoughts. you wanted them
other then that i like how she is looking AT the camera and not of in her only little world, like she is dead or something. really like the picture. good work.

that photo would make a rreally good screen print or stencil.... the contrast is just perfect for it

I think Anna is quite beautiful. I can't quite place the look, kind of haunting I guess. Like inspiration lost. I like the sheer whiteness of the photograph almost ghostlike quality.

the makeup is perfect for this shot, very simple but glamourous...shine comes out well in b/w, on her lips, necklace, and brushes...which complete it as a portrait of a painter.

she reminds me of christina ricci. at least in the shot. and that, of course, is beautiful. i don't think it's all on her though. the angle, the lighting, the tones and contrast... all influence it, right?

this reminds me of a karsch portrait, but without the really harsh lighting. it has that same close-up intimate feel to it - no frills, no airbrushing, just a simple candid portrait that really captures the essence of the subject.

This is one of the most beautiful portrait I was given to see.
Really, this is amazing. The lighting is so good, the shadows
are soft, smooth, and still they add a lot to the whole picture.
The eyes are gorgeous, I'm surprised you got such a good
result with a scan. And to end with, the focus is really clever
and the depth is perfect, I love it.
