Description Revision of an earlier design. Changed the contour of the top plate, added more rivets to the harness, and made the plates move more freely. Leather is now hardened, also.
7-8 oz veg tanned leather, hand-tooled and finished edges, harness system allows for a great deal of adjustability.

Very nice! If you don't mind, I think I might use this as inspiration to use in future projects

No problem! It's not like I have anything super original going on here, pretty much any pauldrons you see will be built like this and have a similar harness.

Fair point. I usually buy items and then customise it, or backward-engineer it to see how I can make it myself... That usually helps
But yeah, I'm planning on doing a Fantasy Umbrella Corp with some buddies of mine, and I think this is going to be perfect for it

Yeah, I just looked at how a lot of them were made and designed this similarly. There's also a strap with a buckle across the upper back. I used a lot of hardware but I want them to be as adjustable as possible so that I don't have to change the lengths on all the straps every time I make one for someone.

Same here. Until now I've mainly been using belts and other items I have lying around because of my lack of money. (Student, and I can't seem to find myself a job anywhere)
But, I do plan on buying some quality materials to make better items soon.
Works like these are what I plan on making too ^^
Perhaps if you have time, you could look at my work and tell me what you think of it?

Sure. That's what I did for a long time--I was in the same situation. If you can save up about $100 and wait for a sale, you'll get some quality leather and four or so tools that you really need from Tandy Leather.

Depends on where it's located. Here in The Netherlands it's pretty damn expensive to import things like that so It'd be cheaper to get it at a local dealer

Yeah, the wind was the worst thing about it, but I ended up with the cool effect of snow blowing through some of the pictures so it was worth it... I did a shoot of my post-apoc armor the same day, but I was nice enough to do inside for the sake of my buddy who was modeling without his shirt.

jeezus, shirtless in the snow? And here I was thinking I was tough for only wearing ONE sweat instead of two.
