Thanks! I sold it earlier this year...I really want to make more, but I haven't been able to find a horn with so much texture on it again. I do have plans for similar projects, and I'll definitely keep in mind to use brass.

thats the only problem with natural materials like that, there not very consistent. i think that a brass one would look grate with a bit of a weathered "patina" on it! only problem is the weight! bit heavy to have on the side of a drinking horn. I'll upload a picture of my drinking horn soon, it's nothing as fancy as the one you made though.

Yeah, the aluminum is certainly much lighter...using bird skulls might be a good solution for casting in brass. I'd love to see it.

bird skulls would be awesome! a raven skull would be grate if you wanted to go with a norse theme, odin the god of war had two ravens that see everything in all realms of the earth. i think it would look quite mystic and pagan to have a bird skull on a horn. you've inspired me to make something similar now.

Actually, I did that recently. I also put a braided leather strap on it but unfortunately didn't get any pictures before it was sold.

Veeeery cool! I know a score of people who'd pay a pretty penny for one of these!
