Today was not going as Helga planned.Shout Out to for typing up that expert from the HA! novels for me.
So, what's happening here? My guess is that Helga went to sock Brainy again, and he took the opportunity to make an obvious move.
After all the obvious moves he's made, this one MIGHT have a chance of getting through that thick skull of hers.
But don't get too excited. She probably flips him to the pavement and runs home screaming.

Your H/B art is just too darn adorable. And somewhere in these comments was something about Brainy putting his head on Helga's lap... Hmm... I remember it but... I dunno. For some reason, I remember them being in a hospital or something (Maybe Helga Blabs it All, where she goes to the dentist? Maybe... but that doesn't sound right) Ugh... Believe you me, I'm not denying that Helga adores Arnold, because that's obvious; or that Arnold may be starting to like Helga just as the show ended. I just happen to have come to the conclusion that I prefer her with Brainy.

As much, as I know the how, Helga perfectly knows about Brainy's feelings. I've recently wrote about it on the forum of Arnold's Eyes. She knows what he feels (it's VERY obvious, isn't it?), but, when she won't love him back she just tries to protect his and her own feelings by this hostile attitude. She more tries to protect, than is actually mean. If she was nice to him that would be just a false hope. I think, the best way she treated Brainy was when she just calmly talked to him after the couch confession, asking what does he want. In this situation, knowing Helga and her jujitu skills, it's not gonna end good for Brainy. (Well, unless you draw something else, of course.)

I'm trying to recall in HA! cases where Brainy took it farther than starking and breathing down her neck.
It's been ages since I've watched it, but if my memory is correct, Brainy once layed down and placed his head in her lap (which I thought was pretty bold of him, and kinda mature too as I've only seen teens to that).
Do you know any other times Brainy took it a bit farther?

... Um, I don't recall that moment.
Off the top of my head, I have three. 1: Operation Ruthless - Brainy ends up with Helga in the Tunnel of Love, and he puts his arm around her shoulders. She hits him and knocks him into the water. 2: Helga on the Couch - Brainy approaches her at her locker, waves, and says "Hi" like he's about to say something else; probably a confession considering what happens next time he shows up. Which brings us to 3: Helga on the Couch - after Helga's therapy appointment and after she runs into Arnold, Brainy exits the arch he was hiding in, all nice looking with a bowtie, and presents her with a little ring in one of those plastic bubbles like from the gumball machines.

I think the scene I mentioned happened in the episode, "Helga's Love Potion" where Helga drinks a love potion to rid her feeling for Arnold, but she becomes monotone and neutral about everything as a result. On the school bus is when Brainy makes his big move, I guess knowing that she won't hit him at this time.
I havn't seen it years, but I'm sure that scene happened at some point in the series.

Ah, no that didn't happen at all. In that ep, anyway.
In Helga's Love Potion, she doesn't hit him, so he hits himself. She wasn't even shown ON the bus in that ep.
DAMN! Now I have to watch every single ep in existance to find out if that scene is true! Worse that it at least sounds familiar.

Drat, well I'm really sure it happened! I remember because it startled me (I thought only teenagers and people in their 20's did that!) so it's one of the scenes I remember most.

I just had a thought if your actually on this Helga/Brainy hunt. It might have occured on the episode "Beaned", where Helga gets amnesia. The reason I think its this one is because of Helga's passive reaction to Brainy's big move.
