Deety had been put together with scraps, bits and pieces- she was a leftover girl. Some of her parts were remnants of things beloved, hard to let go of pieces of memory and beauty, and others were secondhand filler scraps. To look at her, you could see that she had been both loved and mistreated. She was made out of cheap, common things- and yet she was completely unique.In other words, she was like every other girl.

Closeup of one of the Tutorial Doll's sides. This project, by the way, makes the third alligator I've ever painted on my face. Funny story, actually...I don't have any particular attachment to alligators- and yet I have an alligator themed bathroom. Seriously. Bath mat, framed pictures, lightswitch plate, soap, curtain, rod holders- and every alligator is either green or pink. The main reason? Well, people come out of my bathroom the first time and say "So, like alligators?" And I get to say..."Not particularly."
I love it.

Medium: Wolfe Brothers, Buttons stuck on with hair molding gel (shut up, it was 3 in the morning... XD )

This is really amazing. I play in a LARP (laugh if you like), and my character is a rag doll. I've been looking for some make-up ideas for her that I could use. I'm afraid this would take too long but it's truly inspiring.
I use eyelash glue to make my buttons stick, so hair molding gel works for me!

^_^ LARP is only laughable in the fun, "this is so awesome" sort of way. To each their own, and I've been a painter-of-LARP'ers for years.
I love that your character is a rag doll! How fun! I suggest just mastering some stitch lines- or you could pre-cut out thin bits of fabric in squares and spirit gum 'em to your face, then use some eyeliner pencil to draw some stitches "connecting" them to your face. The button stick is a great idea.
