I've been thinking of James Franco as an alternative. Β What do you think of that?

Well he would be a much better fit as far as looks. I would just hope in reality if they did this the actors and actresses would be forced to read as many of the books as need be to get a good hold on the personality of the character

You know, in my head, I would have switched the actors for the brothers. Lol To me, F'lar is far more composed and "gentleman" in looks, while F'nor seems more scruffy and "little Brother", but that could just be me. ^_^

The question is would she be willing to do TV cause I do think that's the best way to adapt DRAGONFLIGHT. As a 6 hour miniseries for a cable channel like STARZ or AMC.

That's why I like the idea of a miniseries. You can divide the book evenly up into six parts. Each part gets one hour.

It may not get the attention, but at least it would be done properly. I fear that if they did movies they would sacrifice the characters in favor of CGI dragon vs. thread action sequences.

Well, I mean the attention to detail. Sorry, brain is on the fritz. I think it needs to have both, really. Now that we have the tech for it. That's why I'd love to see Jackson and/or Cameron on this project. They're both masters of both CG and Character developement.

We need to check out this new miniseries coming to STARZ. It's based on GAME OF THRONES by George R.R. Martin and can give us I think a good idea of whether or not they can do PERN on TV.

I'd love to see Sean in anything right now. he's such a great actor and since Firefly got canceled I've not seen him in anything else. 
He'd make a great F'nor. I can totally see him trying to jump 'Between' to the Red Star.
