Second in my series of DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN fan casting wallpapers.Eric Bana is my choice to play F'lar, leader of the Dragonriders.

I know that you might disagree on this,but whenever I see Robin Woods painting of F'lar,I see Jared Padalecki from Supernatural. However because of his involvement in the series Supernatural,I don't think that he would be available to play him in the upcoming movie.

Hmm maybe. I also have a problem since I look at them and try to see if its an exact match in both looks and personality. I think since I have such a deep love of the series I may be to picky. Now I see one of the reasons why Anne McCaffrey never let them make a movie, she always said it just never seemed right.

Oh, yes!!! I like Bana, he's hot and everything, but Bale is a much better choice, at least to me!

I'm mixed about this casting idea. There are scenes in the books that I can see him pulling off, but others that I can't. Of course, I have the same reservations about Hugh Jackman. Heck, there are moments in the books where I almost feel Rupert Everett would be a better choice, really (the calm, collected scenes where F'lar thinks before he acts) but admitted I couldn't imagine R.E. fighting any duels haha.

That's the challenge, finding A F'nor to match F'lar because physically they have to be very similar. I really don't know off the top of my head

If we go with Bale, I'd get James Franco was F'Nor. I'd still keep Jewel Staite as Brekke

Now that is an interesting idea. I rather like Franco, I think he's got personality (the best actor in Pineapple Express lol). He'd definitely come across as the more approachable brother counter to Bale as F'lar. Hmmm this pairing would certainly give me pleasant dreams at night, if nothing else.

No way...Nathan Filion as F'lar all the way. After his performance as Malcom Reynolds he'd be perfect for it. He can pull off tough and disciplined and bring up the humor out of nowhere...something like F'lar did in Dragonflight.
