That almost reminds me of one I have seen at the Henry Ford Museum back home.  It might be a similar make and model more than likely.

It very well could be.  I've never made it to the Henry Ford Museum, though it's on my list of 'must-see' attractions.

I actually saw one of these in person! It was blue.

The guy wouldn't sell it, but he said that it would go 40 miles on a charge and it had a top speed of 40 mph.  His said that they were made in Florida, but never caught on- and the company went out of business.

Cool!

Yup, all of the above is accurate.   I've not seen a blue one - most of the ones I've stumbled across are the same shade of orange as this one.

I'm glad that you posted a picture of one. I've been telling my wife about it since 2005.

She had never seen one.

That's not too surprising.  Most of them are in museums now...or long recycled into Hyundais.  This is the only one I can recall ever seeing too.

The one that I saw was in south west Ohio at a green house (small business) in about 2001. It went out of business and the car is gone. I have no idea where it went and I have stopped by many times hoping that some one would be around to ask, but no luck.

That was way before the gas prices went crazy and at the time it just would have been a neat toy.

Now, I'd like to have one for other reasons too!

Heh, yes.  As gas goes up we all feel the pinch.   I wouldn't mind having one, but that's mostly because they remind me of a scaled down AMC Gremlin.

That's so funny that you say that!

It reminds me of one too! I just thought it was me that saw the Gremlin in it.

Nope - not just you!  The kammback design was popular in the '70s and AMC's Gremlin was one of the most famous examples of it.

I wouldn't say it's a small car but they actually search you as you leave the museum to make sure you're not trying to smuggle it out...
