Half a sandwich was placed back in its cellophane wrapper. The bell rang for the third time, ushering back the last stragglers. Grabbing his things, the boy leaped a small fence that came between the classroom as his favourite tree.

Half a skull smashed against the hard dacite ground. The war drums beat harder, a horn blaring overhead, commanding its troops move in on the lone fighter. Clutching his weapon, The Hero ran and jumped off the chest of a huge brute, slicing its throat as he twirled his blade.

The battle lasted hours. But finally as silence and the night congealed together into an uneasy sort of peace, the small mammals emerged from their hiding places. They climbed across a mountain of corpses to thank The Hero for his service.
