Originally drew this over a year ago, completed 11/21/22! My friend Bacon, the ever-brilliant DM of both Mystic Detective and Magic Cowboy, has a plethora of incredible worlds and characters. This friend here is Dilyar and he hails from Godpact, a setting Bacon, my friend Talicor, and their high school friends made together. He's a half-elf druid who was raised in an orphanage with his catfolk best friend, Moolin, until they aged out and had to turn to crime to survive. They were extremely successful and lived like gutter kings. One day Dilyar caught some brat pickpocketing him and... realized it was a kid he'd known when he was still at the orphanage. They'd also gotten old enough to be kicked out, even younger than Dilyar and Moolin had been. Dilyar and Moolin were struck something fierce by that realization and began collecting orphans and street kids they found to teach them the skills they needed to survive on the streets. They became something of a family.
Eventually they found out the Lord of the area had been replaced by his son, and he'd taken strangling the funding of orphanages. Moolin was furious and wanted to confront the young lord, Dilyar wanted to take a more tactful approach, and the two ended up splitting their band of misfits in the fallout. Dilyar tried to purchase a chunk of land for his kids to live on legally, but the young lord put the price staggeringly high, far and away beyond what Dilyar could afford. With the young lord also planning to soon completely shut down the orphanage Dilyar came from, Dilyar was determined to earn that money turned to his one legal option- adventuring. After one particularly staggeringly profitable adventure he was able to scrape together the money... and Dilyar opened a camp for orphans. A school to give them somewhere safe to live and teach them skills they could use to make a legal living once they were old enough, funded by the adventures of graduates of the school.
He's an altruistic good boy, and upon needling Bacon for his story, I was compelled to draw him. :3
