Description They has a baby now... |3

A sudden idea... I'm still going to make adult Fekehér someday but before that "hey, I could make a baby version". ...and I did.
It's only 20 cm long cute little thing. I had to sew it mostly by hand since I couldn't use sewing machine for this small and detailed plushie.

Materials:
Black, white, turquoise and blue polar fleece, purple felt (only because I haven't found purple fleece), black and white MOJO fur fabric (kinda awful stuff...), black and white fabric paint (gosh NEVER EVER again I won't paint black fabric with non-opaque white fabric paint... ._. I need opaque white fabric paint...), plastic plushie eyes. Stuffed with leftover pieces, cotton filling and plastic grains.

Comments and questions welcome.

When I was a kid I did MUCH crafts (I drew and painted too but there was a time when I made more three-dimensional things than two-dimensional)... Everything random what I even could do. I can't remember anybody has ever teached sewing by hand especially...I think I just copied my mom. I've learnt much things just by looking how somebody else makes it. |p
I still like make things no matter what's the material. More change the better.

There are four different pieces per wing sewed together, stripes are painted.
All fur parts are just furry fabric, sewed together as any fabric (I just had to be careful with long fur). I try avoid glue with these plushies, so far I've not need any.

I've planned to do either MoA or Lucifer next... Let's see what happens. <_<'

Bwak. Memories of mien are bad. I have no idea if I ever made something 3 dimensional by myself when I was a child ._o
You seem to have pretty good brain in case of memories from childhood xP

But.. that´s an explanation. But I never thought copying would be enough to learn sewing that well ._o

Lucifer or MoA? |D So now even a few uncreateds follow? Oh dear... I see your room three years later full with self made plushies of many own creatures xP

I've saved MUCH things from the times I couldn't even write... xp *is such a hamster*

Well, if somebody did that and I tried and by times I've tried and learnt more just by...trying, it teaches much. I haven't sewn too much but I know the basic things, the rest is just creative trying. |p Not that hard it sounds like.

Maybe. |3 Maybe..... But hey, when you can't buy it, make it!

Opposite form me because I kept destroying everything that was old. When I find one ´old´ picture from time when I was 15 years old I´m already happy. My mother was the only one who saved old pictures – I crashed all of them >_>”
Stupid kid. Now I´d like to have those old species collections .__.”

Soo true |D” It might be possible to give orders of creating plushies or figures but those ones are expensive and… Nha~ I like unique things more than created-by-industry things xP Nobody on whole world has a second Zyreus plushie like yours. I think being the owner of something unique is nice xP

I still have a couple of art pieces what I made in age of...two? |D And I think my mom may have even some earlier pieces somewhere. ...
Yes. At very first when kid shows some artistic skills, parents are happy and so, but when that kid starts to draw more and more and more and so on, they want throw everything away. That happened to me and now it's me who saves everything.....

MoA would be pretty easy (helmet = the biggest problem) but Lusse needs more thinking... At least I have several "industrial" plushies to take some reference...

Royal-Manda In reply to Sysirauta [2010-01-04 17:40:52 +0000 UTC]

How said... here it´s the opposite: I throw old art things away – Mother saved it ._. (Luckily. Other ways I wouldn´t have any old pictures anymore ._o) And she still does. Thought since I want to keep art pieces by my own and don´t give them away that easily she steals them >_>”

Bwak. Lucifer is problematic because of horns and those many stripes, I guess. *No experience with plushies => No idea whats hard and whats not |x*
How would you make that helmet anyway? .v. Because it seems to be a “bit “ too detailed for fabric-work on small size ._o

Sysirauta In reply to Royal-Manda [2010-01-04 19:00:28 +0000 UTC]

Stripes can be painted. Horns, helmet and other decoration is just about cutting and sewing little fabric pieces together...I hope. |p Let's see what happens.
...
You should try make a plushie someday. Just something simply, maybe, just to see how it works.

Royal-Manda In reply to Sysirauta [2010-01-04 23:27:10 +0000 UTC]

That doesn´t sound too hard. (Thought I still would worry about too detailed things |x That MoA-helmet shouldn´t be too easy). And you have many different colors to find for those wings xP)

Yes I should try that someday. I ‘m pretty sure there are some tutorials to explain basics of sewing and an easy thing as start should help. Let´s see~
At least I don´t give up too soon before having tried |x

It depends on the plushie. This one needed, what, 15-20 pieces...

These plushies of yours really are quite lovely! I really like the way in which you put them together May I ask you something? Would you offer these are commissions? Cuz I'd love to have a hand made plushie like this of my darling Matsota

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sysirauta In reply to LilacTazukoIND [2009-12-27 21:57:48 +0000 UTC]

... I need more practice before I dare to take plushie commissions. |'D I'm still slow at making them, I have to find out correct price (they have more material fees than basic traditional drawings) aaand what costs shipping of three-dimensional thing someplace else than Finland. ... But maybe someday, who knows. |3 ... At least Matsota is possible to...plushify(?).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LilacTazukoIND In reply to Sysirauta [2009-12-27 22:04:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see. Yeah it must cost a lot and take some time to make those eh? I can understand if you're not too confident on selling them right now but I'd be willing to pay a lot for one of these. See, I've been looking for someone to do me a plushie of one of my characters but my luck has come up zero to nothing so far I got quite a lot of money for Christmas this year so it doesn't bother me much to spend some of it Yay! Well at least you think he'd be plushie worthy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sysirauta In reply to LilacTazukoIND [2009-12-27 22:31:17 +0000 UTC]

I....will think about this. |D I don't want ask too much money either. But...if I someday (during next year, I think?) try make plushie commissions, would you like to be my test customer? xp
...but, say, how long/big Matsota would you like and how detailed (I know one place where I could get custom wrist belts with spikes (in moderate price) too, if that Matsota wouldn't be too miniature...) Nothing final now but this may help me think. |3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LilacTazukoIND In reply to Sysirauta [2009-12-28 04:52:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I can understand. Well, I'm willing to pay anywhere between 50 to 80 Canadian dollars if that seems fair or is it too high or low you think? Lol, this might be a good way to decide on the prices maybe yes? Oh sure! I'd love to be Although my only condition is that I'd like to try and maybe settle on a price soon so that I can set aside some money to save so that I don't spend it all in that time. If that's alright with you that is

Hmm... let's see *thinks* Well he'd probably have the long body structure since he always does lol. But, as for how big, I'd say at least a decent hugging size. A size where he's big enough to cuddle with but not big enough to use as a body pillow you know what I mean? Oh really? That's pretty awesome! Okay, no worries. At least I know I will be getting one from you at some point. I am a very patient person when it comes to these sort of things

Materials and patterns matter a bit, yes... I make my patterns by myself but that's a risky business, never can be completely sure what part fails.
