Description Head reconstruction of the paleocene proboscidean Phosphatherium escuilliei. This artwork serves as addition to the Evolution of Proboscidea poster I uploaded back in 2010.

Yes, sometimes it is absolutely crazy and pretty random. You never know which model will be most fit in the always changing condition of the environment. I guess that's the beauty of the process.

Because Jurassic Park is about non-avian dinosaurs and eventually other types of mesozoic fauna. Extinct cenozoic mammals don't have place there. Maybe in Cenozoic Park?

I suppose. Although, in the first movie, there were Smilodon plushies, indicating at least plans for prehistoric mammals.
