Sally confused salt with sugar while baking cookies.

Okay this cracked me up. I love that little quirk they added in the NU 252 that Sally cannot cook. And I am a long time Sonally shipper, like all the way back to issue 0. And it is stuff like this that I like. I mean I loved that in SatAM it was never once said that they were dating, a couple, or boyfriend and girlfriend. They just had a comfortable togetherness and would kiss or hold hands without ever needing to label it or point it out. I mean it's sad too that there can be no love interest for Sonic in the post Reboot but at the same time I use that to my advantage. I just like to think Sonic and Sally got together after Sally got back her memories from the old universe but just keep their relationship on the down low. The best part is that nothing can happen to disprove this idea.

I have to agree. Just them being themselves around each other gives me the most highest of shipping feels. I'll be honest I didn't really care for the 2X years later Sonally because I felt Sally was very subdued and its blatantly obvious Sonic was uncomfortable in that position. Whether he went back in time or not... or.. he did and he's not king anymore... but then he fixed it... I dunno that whole thing was confusing... My point is that Sonic is not one for the "leadership" role. No doubt he can take the lead but he can't... lead... an army... In contrast, Sally is a natural born leader who likes to be in the dominate role. I mean for what it is, it's sweet, their kids are cute but something feels missing.
It's true I do have them engaged in my comic but not king and queen. Sonic still has his free time to himself to run like a maniac and Sally would most likely be a council member in her brother's court. She still is there for her people but not shoved into the background like 2X later arcs.
Also to stop my rambling, I do think they're together in the post-boot but it's not the central focus. It's more like "Oh yeah they're together. Time to fix the world, Defeat Eggman, and eat chili dogs!" ....I don't care what the mandate says, a girl can dream damn it...

Yeah, the future stories were mainly the work of Ken Penders, as well as Issue 134. The guy had some good ideas in the beginning but went George Lucas Prequel on the comic and made it an unholy mess. The acts like he's all progressive yet he is incredibly chauvinistic in his writing style, especially in the 2X years later stuff. Having all the men make decisions and run things while their wives drink martinis and have sleepovers.

Oh gosh, I thought that part was really bad fanfiction... But no. It's real... All throughout I was screaming "DO SOMETHING"... Very irritating. Then that whole break-up was just soo... PAINFUL to experience.. even before the big slap... I know that was Karl Bollers... but it was outright TERRIBLE. I get Sally was scared of losing Sonic again but come on...

That was fun. They are my favorite couple and i like to see them in no-romantic moments (dont misunderstandme, I LOVE SONALLY ROMANTIC MOMENTS) but I think than their relation isnt an extremly romantic like a soup opera... They are a friends who discover than they are inlove from each other and share upside and downs (like a bad made cookies)

It's just moments like those like them just being them is why I ship them. They work off each other so well it's hard for me not to find them cute. I can say in the comics when they got REALLY into the melodrama romance *coughs* 134 *coughs* It was just no... Just no... A lot of writers, myself included at one point, think that romance is always kissy kissy, melodramatic, sexy jealousy time, but it's not. It's not the concept of the shipping what matters, it's the people within it that make it fun. Not sure if that all made sense but... I do hope so.
Anyways thanks for the comment!

Love this picture (I'm super late I know). I agree with you're opinions on the SonSal relationship. Whenever I write a story about them, I like to balance romance and playfulness. It get real bland when it's super lovey dovey and no fun what so ever. In SatAm they drive each other up the wall sometimes and they tease each other, but at the end of the day they really care about each other. You catch my drift?

Of course! That's why I ship them so much. Not only they both are their own person but they add something to each other that both need. (Sonic thinking about his actions more and Sally letting loose a bit and taking more chances.) They know how to build each other up and knock each other down if necessary. They don't baby each other too which is good because I HAAAAAATE when couples do that. It nice to see that they know when to slow down and comfort each other and when to be blunt and say "Get over it".

Thanks to yoy for the draw. Im agree with you in the point than they work so well together. Im not really against melodramatic ronance moments (I love issue 222 and their 7 kisses) is just than I like them as a couple in no-romantic moments too. I hope you continue making draws of them. They are so lovely!!

I remember a friend of mine was baking and saw that the recipe said to put in 10 pinches of salt. Well nameless friend decided it would be easier to just put in a tablespoon of salt.
The dough tasted like salt balls...
Great art by the way
