Description Yet another journal (sick of them, yet?) cover.

This one is more rustic, like a Steampunk one meets Japanese aesthetics. It has a mon (crest) of what I think is a peony on the front, and on the back, the kanji for "fantasy" (kuusou). I thought it was fitting, and I enjoy it a lot. There is also a sakura (cherry) branch on it, above the crest, which I absolutely love to no end :3

It was dyed a mahogany brown, and then antiqued over the top of that. I have no idea, either, why the little bit next to the mon didn't dye, but I didn't want to mask it. Maybe something in the hide, but it adds a unique feel to it, IMO. I hope others think the same thing, too ^^

You can see more pictures here, in the Etsy listing for it , until I get them up on my site. You can also see the other styles of journals - both Steampunk and Japanese inspired - that I've made so far up there, too!

Through May 15, 2011, I have a coupon going on for 15% off of everything in my Etsy store! Just enter WELCOMEBACK2011DA upon checkout on Etsy and it should automatically take it off!

I'm liking all the journals, but I think this is my favorite.

"have no idea, either, why the little bit next to the mon didn't dye, but I didn't want to mask it. "

It's leather. Honestly, it just does that. Higher quality leathers won't do it as often, but if you get discounted or not as good tanned leather, you'll get the imperfections. Just enjoy it

I have been watching your work for quite a while now, and i really gotta say that amongst all the cosplaying deviants you are by FAR one of my favorites. Your work is so meticulous and quite frankly its breathtaking, i'm loving your leather making phase!
