Description Further into the Komo Hachiman Shrine 「薦神社」there are many statues of komainu (I had always known them by their Chinese name of Shishi, or dragon-dogs, so forgive me if I refer to them as that) along a path that ran around a small lake.

The colors are still spectacular here, even at the beginning of December, so it was wonderful to get some shots of the foliage.

More from this shoot
At the beginning of December, we decided to go take some pictures. My husband had mentioned that he bikes past a few shrines on his way to one of his schools, so we grabbed the camera bag and headed out. It turns out, this is a rather large Hachiman shrine, the Komo Hachiman Shrine 「薦神社」I cannot wait to go back again to get more pictures!
