Personality:

Prometheus is very rough around the edges, and often comes off as being unapproachable. He frowns more often than not, his brows seemingly permanently furrowed. He's blunt, to the point where he sometimes seems rude despite not meaning to, and he always speaks his mind, regarding honesty as an important trait to have.

He dislikes bullies with a passion, and being something of an anti-hero, he sometimes resorts to violence to put them in their place. Similarly, he will not hesitate to butt heads with those of authority if he feels that they are abusing their power.

Despite his angry exterior, he does have a sense of humour and softer, childish qualities that surface every once in a while, which can often be seen when in the presence of animals. He also has a big heart and will often agree to help out someone in need with little to no hesitation. He may make shallow protests as a front, but is more than willing to lend a helping hand. He has a lot of faith in humanity, almost to the point of naivety, and believes that people are inherently good and well-meaning. This not only means that he is too trusting and therefore easy to take advantage of, however, but it also makes the betrayal hurt even more when he is proven wrong.

Prometheus knows that, due to his demeanour, he might be perceived as a delinquent and therefore attract negative attention, so he is also studious and works hard to keep his grades up to at least keep those of authority off his case. He's smart, but because of his behaviour, may not come across that way, which he will sometimes use to his advantage.

Background:

Born into a creative household, Prometheus grew up being surrounded by the arts. His father was a potter, while his mother, an art gallery curator. Because of this, he learnt to work with clay and other materials from a young age, coming to appreciate art and its diversity. This did not sit well with those around him, however, as many fellow school kids, being kids, deemed his hobbies 'girly' and began to pick on him, some turning to violence due to his stubbornness and unwillingness to let it get to him.

To deal with this, Prometheus ended up beating the bullies up instead, ironically earning his reputation as a thug or bully himself. Such incidents led to his intense hatred for bullies, however, so said reputation never wavered as he constantly found himself putting bullies in their place should he happen to find out about them. He never actively looked for them himself, but bully victims who had heard of his reputation often sought him out for help, which he was more than willing to give.

Unfortunately, his parents had found out about his violence due to a teacher having witnessed one of his bouts, and he was suspended from school indefinitely. Thinking that a new environment and fresh start would help, his parents then decided to enroll him into Olympia Academy, in the hopes of a prestigious school straightening him out, or at least giving better opportunities for making friends rather than enemies.

How did you incorporate the myth you chose into your character? (details please)

A lot of his personality, especially his views on humanity, come from Prometheus being the creator of mankind, and having helped humanity at the expense of his own liver by punishment from Zeus. His scars are also a small nod to the punishment he endured, as he gets hurt for helping others as Prometheus had done so for humanity.

His hobbies in sculpting originate from him being the creator of mankind as well, and his father being a potter comes from one interpretation of Prometheus' father, Iapetus, being a god of craftsmanship. His relationship with his brother stems from the myth of Pandora, where Prometheus warns his brother, Epimetheus, not to accept her as a gift, to which he ignored. Their clashing personalities stem from Prometheus being considered 'forethought' and therefore smart, while his brother was considered 'afterthought' and thus more foolish.

He also has an affinity with fire, something that grew due to his sculpting and pottery hobbies, which was inspired by Prometheus gifting mankind with fire.
