I lay down a good amount of water first, then add the paint into that water and let it spread, starting with the lightest colors first, then the darker colors
When that has dried mostly, i began to add the splatter, by flicking my brush, while having  a lot of water and paint on it.

I let the bears dry completely before starting the background
then i just brushed the water up to the edge of the bears, but not over it.

with good watercolor paper you can maintain a lot of control of where you want water to go, and a quick press of a papertowel can pick up unwanted water and even unwanted paint really fast! It's pretty handy!

definitely try! watercolor is a lot of fun to mess around with and experiment
I get a lot of my ideas for new tricks from Youtube videos actually

Found some really fun effects using Saranwrap that way
