Hey there ppl
This time a concept art ^^
This piece is a long-time-going gift art I've started and re-done a couple of times over the time
Never finished it.So I thought I'll dust it off and finally complete it ^^
This is a gift work for
Its her character. An elf in the Tolkien setting ^^ Bit of a magus bit of a fighter.
I took the liberty and made a version of a clothing that I think would be a slightly more fitting idea for a wonderer type elf ^^ Not your typical leaf and tree motif armor that most elves use in the Ring Wars era ^^
Tried out some new stuff (like the wolf pelt, leather and other stuff) to see how can I get better and more realistic look of it
Anyways, let me know what ya think

Technically she is a mix between a warrior and a mage
For more exact details, you'd need to talk to the owner of the character 
But all in all, it was fun to draw her ^^

I absolutely LOVE all the detail! This is my favorite type of art; so vivid and lifelike one might
think its a photo.

Its one of my all time fave world and story... hell I started off with tolkien drawings xD There was a time when more then half of my gallery was tolkien related x)

Her head's tilted at an odd angle. Sort of demonic, really. One of those luring, "come get me (if you dare)" expressions on her face, haha. The lack of detail on her ear somewhat disturbs me though, considering how detailed everything else is (well, the robe could use more detail in texturing, but I feel like that might be overkill). I would've recommended just having a tip point out and the rest be hidden by hair. But other than that, magnificent work.

As for the kilt... I dont want to add too much detail to it, since then it would divert too much attention from the more impotant areas. As you said, would be an overkill

Ah, that explains it. About the kilt, you shouldn't add too much detail, but you should also note that if it's too lacking in detail, it'll stand out more and can be distracting that way.

Another of the many joys of digital art: you can save all the WIP's as different files and start from wherever you want. (I doubt you did this, but you're more used to traditional art anyway.)

For this particular piece I got about... 16 WIP file saved in .psd XD
It changed a lot from the original idea ^^
I got used to the PS + digital art advanteges in time
Tho... in traditional, there was little to it if I saved the stages XD Could alter only if I print it out x)

Yeah... compared to the original design her look changed a lot since then xD
The clothing ? Well I imagine it as different layers above one another, partly covering eachother, sometimes leaving skin free.
Think like kimono's and you get the main idea

Actually you have plenty of room to figure out how and what is under the upper layers
The greenish arm-robe part is below the red + green chest piece
As for the kilt... it can be anything under it really.... ^^
