Description right. I made this as an illustration for some cheesy book about freedom they were gonna make at our school. however.. it got rejected because "it does'nt really fit in".
But two of my teachers thought it looked like jugendstiel, which was a great compliment, because i was kinda trying that and Im a big fan of jugendstiel.

I like the shading on the wings... Did you use Paint shop pro to make it this color or did was it like that already?

thanks, although I'm not quite satisfied with the shading on the wings. and well yeah I used the the "old newspaper" effect of psp to let it have that brown/yellow hue.

Nice thing you've done there. I agree with your teachers that it looks a bit like jugendstil.
The hair looks in comparison with the smooth body and wings kinda rugged. Might be a nice contrast, though I think it would have been better if the hair was done in the same style as the rest of the pic.
Nevertheless, nice piece of work ^_^

yeeh. another who thinks it kinda looks like jugendstiel. ehm about the hair, yeah i know it's not as smooth as the rest. I was trying to make some effect I've seen a while ago.. only it didnt quite turn out the way i wanted it to be.

I really like how the hair and wings are flowing and curving on opposite sides of the picture, makes for nice balance.

I usually try to bring a flow in my work. so everthing goes by fluid lines.. still trying to improve on that account :S

why thank you, I'm sort of a wing freak and like to draw wings on everything ^_^ so I try to make them as divers as possible.
