Photographing the EXCA is an exhausting job. I walk each course with the riders to determine the best vantage points while also staying out of the way. I spend hours in 115 degree plus heat, typically in direct sunlight documenting all of the cowboys' and cowgirls' hard work. They're like family. We celebrate together after the rides are over. It's going to be hard leaving them behind when we move next year.
