Description Bombay.

I have two very contrasting plane views of this city - the other is of shanty towns, which I might submit at a later stage.

I've heard and read about the extraordinary contrast between privelage and desparity near the airport and around the city of Mumbai.

Yes, it's quite astonishing, especially if it's the first time you've come across such a thing. The contrast is apparent throughout the city - it's very odd seeing huge, modern houses, and a few metres away having a family scavenging on the street.

Wow thanks a lot for your kind words. I was actually leaving Bombay to go to Delhi - and I live in London, so it wasn't quite a 'home at last' feeling - but Bombay did feel like home to me, in a strange way...
Thanks again

I like the angle on the shot, and I'm more intrigued by the mechanics and the structure of the plane wing. (Is a geek)

Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you like it. Actually, the wing is probably my fave part of this shot, so we're thinking along the same lines here.

Love the magic hour lighting, the orangey pink glow to the tops of buildings. Beautiful gradient in the sky ta boot

I'll see about the other shot - I looked at it properly and it's not too fantastic - I may stick it in scraps at some point : ) And thanks for your comment

Nice shot. The wing makes it much better than all the boring out-of-a-plane-shots, the colours are nice too.

there's alot of these, but often they look like snapshots, but this one has en excellent execution aswell as composition; the strong shades and detail of the wing enforce the magical shades of the of the view, lovley

Wooow this view is awesome! The city is plunged into golden light.
Hehe when I'm flying on holiday, I'm always next to a wing, actually.

tanya-n In reply to Kaminfreunde [2006-02-22 16:54:01 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Aw, yeah I've almost always been next to a wing and I'm usually disappointed about that, but then sometimes you can get more interesting shots with that, especially when you incorporate angles into it.

considering the flaps are down... i'm surprised they didn't complain about an electronic device in use - I'm guessing during take off... Great shot hon
