Description My brother the Eagle;
Thank you for guarding me so well.
Thank you for answering my questions.
Thank you for being so brave for me.
Thank you for giving me courage.
Thank you for making me strong.
Thank you for sending my prayers to God.

Thank you for being form those who protect me, and know I think you are lucky that you get to see everyone up there whom I cannot. When I get up there one day in the far far future, I will take the time and give all of you my deepest thanks for giving me everything that my soul could need.

This is a painting I did in gouache. It measures 15” X 20”.
It is dedicated to all of those who protect me on the other side.
And I send them this thanks on the wings of the King of Birds- he who flies closest to God, and all of them. He will deliver my blessing.

There are 6 eagles in this picture.

Native Terms?
And just what do you mean by "Native terms"? I am currently living with the Ojibway, and have learned from and within the Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Kwa'kawa'kawaka, Cowichan, Navajo, Cree, Chippawa, Metis and Mowhak, [Naghual and Ainu inclusive but not territorial] and I have yet to hear ANYONE claim that Eagle and Thunderbird are the same thing. Which "Term" are you referring to exactly?
And Waenaesh k'dodaem? Becuase I'm assuming that you are if you make it sound that it is that way in your culture?

This is delightful for me to see. I do Haida art as well, and this is just inspirational to me. You add your own touches to the style that make it incredible.
My art is nothing compared to yours (especially since I'm not native at all and live in Ontario) and you're...just great, I don't know what to say.

Well, I used to live in Toronto- keep in mind art knows no physical boundaries! The only thing that needs to be known is the history, the culture, and the meaning.
I am honored to be some of an inspiration to you! Know that it's poeple like you who inspire me as well.

TO be quite honest, I come from a tribe called "Judah".
I was taught, and continue to be taught and accepted into a wonderful culture that lets me share much with it... and funny, we found out we have LOTS in common. And I am greatful for that.
THank you for the comment!

Purty, and I'm impressed because I find it hard to draw in that style.

The book is called:

"Ojibway Heritage" and the author is Basil Johnston.

VERY excillent read. It really takes and explains the entire mentality, cultural life and spirituality of the Anishnabeg from the beginning. it's stunning!

Very neat and inspirational work Bernice! It's somehow interesting to see the Native style and art cuz you can actually see more things than just what the figure is suppose to be. I didn't see it to be as an eagle at first until I spotted the head of the eagle 5 seconds later.

Nice work once again
